Windows 10 Update

  • July 31, 2015: Microsoft today announced that over 14 million devices are all running its latest operating system.
  • July 13, 2015: Today, IFA announced that Microsoft corporate vice president Nick Parker will demonstrate a breadth of new Windows 10 devices, including tablets, 2-in-1s, premium notebooks, gaming devices and all-in-ones that will light up the Windows 10 experience for customers on September 4th at IFA 2015 convention in Berlin.
  • July 9, 2015: According to a report released by IDC on Thursday – Worldwide PC shipments in the second quarter of 2015 declined 11.8 percent compared to the same period a year ago. There are several factors which have contributed to the decline in the PC shipments across the globe with Windows 10 launch being one of them.
  • July 9, 2015: Microsoft confirmed that the Office universal apps for Windows 10 (the mobile, touch-first versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote) will ship in non-preview form on July 29, 2015.
  • March 24, 2015: Microsoft said that developers will soon be able to test Spartan, as it gets ready for a public preview. The company also said on its Internet Explorer blog that IE Browser is finally dying.
  • March 23, 2015: Microsoft today launched developer tools for the Windows 10 Technical Preview, including a software development kit (SDK). Developers can use this new tool to start building universal Windows apps for Windows 10.
  • March 19, 2015
    • Windows 10 introduces universal driver support and new tools for hardware and software developers to target the full range of Windows devices.
    • Windows 10 will be available this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages – Terry Myerson.
    • Microsoft introduced Windows 10 IoT. Windows 10 IoT will be free for Makers and commercial device builders.
  • March 2, 2015: Microsoft revealed the first look of Windows 10 developer platform strategy and universal app platform at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
